Alfred R Evans - Husband of Elizabeth Bisbey

I am currently looking into my Mom's side of my family.

My great grandfather is called Alfred Richard Evans, he was married to Elizabeth Bisbey.

My Nan never knew when her Dad was born, where he was from etc, because he wasn't exactly a model father.

She's now passed away, and we still have got no further with finding out who he is.  There's a few Alfred Richard Evans around the same time so i'm not sure which one is right.

I guess my question is, does anyone know a way I could confirm the right one?

3 birth registrations at Wolverhampton in the 1930s & one in 1940 with surname Evans mmn Bisbey.
Is this the family?

It may be on records as Bisley.

My Nan was Elizabeth Evans - born 1939, Wolverhampton.
Her Mom was Elizabeth Bisbey - born 31st March 1897 - Wolverhampton

Elizabeth Bisbey was married to Alfred Evans, in October 1932.

do you have a copy of that 1932 marriage certificate? If not, it would be worth buying as it should give age of Alfred and his father's name & occupation.

There is an Alfred Richard Evans born 19 Oct 1897 in Newcastle under Lyne hence not far from Woolverhampton, Mother Ellen Newey

Have you found Elizabeth on the 1939 register?

Do you know when Alfred died?

Elizabeths birth was registered June qtr 1896 so she was b 31.3.1896 not 1897.  Did she die in 1970?
