Emma Jane Dawson 1862

In 1901 Emma Jane Dawson was living in Impington Cambridge with her husband Thomas and nine children. I believe her maiden name was Hammond and was probably Thomas's second wife.
In 1911 Thomas and three of the children, (Minnie, Lily & Arthur) are living in the same house in Impington, but no sign of Emma Jane and the other children.

Can anyone see where Emma and the other children were in 1911? Emma was still alive and living with Thomas in the same house in 1931 (Electoral Reg) but not in 1939. When did she die?

Any help appreciated.

Have you looked for the older children marrying and perhaps Emma is staying with them?

There is a William Dawson in St. Ives who might be a son.

Not sure about her being a second Wife.

Also 1881 marriage has him as a bachelor

Thank you both. As you suggested  I  found Emma in St Ives with her son William and his wife.
I also found Emma in 1891 and in 1871 (WhiteChapel) living with he widowed mother, Harriett. I think her father was Thomas

The marriage info certainly points to Emma being his only wife, thank you. Where was Thomas in 1881?

Thomas was with is Parents in 1881 as I said earlier..

M/C has Emma Jane's Father was WILLIAM a Coachman
Thomas's Father WILLIAM a Warehouseman

Thanks for the Ely record ... I guess she was in hospital when she died as Thomas was still in the same house in Impington in 1939.

And thanks for the 1881 record ... I now have Thomas' parents.

His Mother as you may have found was Charlotte Dyer.

Thank you Trish. I'm compiling a record for each house in the village at around 1911, from the census, land tax records, etc and help from good people like yourself.

There were 179 dwelling in Impington in 1911 ??  Should keep me out of trouble for a while??
