I didnt do anything today
Flatmate was watching sport so I havent seen any news events either
I will think about  soldiers and the people at home on 11th

When I lived in France everyone had  the day off work..

.they thought a minutes silence was very paltry

We observe the 2 minutes of silence on the 11th, local time.
Some Canadian provinces have a holiday but I think it is important children be in school that day to observe it.  They get a much better sense of it if they are not at home glued to Tik Tok, or whatever...
Remembrance Day is quite important here...an American retailer with Canadian stores was widely criticized last week for not letting employees wear poppies (In Flanders Fields almost sacred here) after the protest, they backed down.

I watched the broadcast from the Cenotaph as I have most of my life, I felt today's was particularly poignant and moving especially when after the wreath-laying, everyone filed inside in absolute silence. I love the music but I felt the utter silence somehow emphasised the bleakness of the occasion and our own current situation.

I was where I always am at 11.00 - at a Remembrance Day service. This year we were outside, but the important part of the service is always held there, round the memorial.
