McCord and Johnson lineages in County Armagh
« on: Monday 09 November 20 13:19 GMT (UK) »
Good morning.  I'm researching two lines of my family history that originated I believe in County Armagh and emigrated to the U.S. during the 1850's.

From the U.S. census records, William McCord was born 4/1838 and his death record shows his parents as George McCord and Anna Johnson.  Records seem to indicate both families in Armagh.

William's spouse (married 1860 in the U.S.) was Mary Ann Crozier, born 3/1843 and her death record reflects parents as John Crozier and Isabelle Crozier.  Again, I believe both families lived in Armagh.

Whatever you can find on their families would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Frank

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

What might their religious denomination be?

Civil Registration of all births and deaths started in 1864 in Ireland. Protestant and registry office marriages began in 1845, and all marriages from 1864.
So, before these dates, church records (if they are in existence) will need to be found, and you will need an idea of location (parish if not actual townland) in county Armagh and religion.
