Where is this photo taken?
« on: Monday 09 November 20 20:33 GMT (UK) »
Here's a photo of some of my distant relatives, in 1959.

https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmxJyApgEAcYhpQz_ko1-pX9P6upkw?e=WvvfuJ

My great-aunt Sarah, on the right, lived all her life in North London.

Any ideas where it might be?

Thanks

Garry Brooks

There are no features on the photo to help us place where the photo was taken.  I somehow get the impression it could be a seaside resort, but I don't knpw why !! There are no seaside resorts near North London.

I thought seaside too with what looks like a bunch of balloons on the right.
Just because she lived in London doesn't mean she never went on holidays or day trips.

There is writing on the building top left but it may not be a clue to the location, just say hot dogs or something.  Can that part be enlarged at all?  Curious to know what it says!

I'd agree re the balloons too.

It may be worth adding your aunts name & surname to the heading as people can relate to names & be more curious.

Hi, I would agree with the idea of a seaside town, it certainly reminds me of one.

The building on the left reminds me of the bus station at Ryde on the Isle of Wight.

Looking at the width of the pavement and the road it makes me think it’s a seaside resort.  I don’t know why but those buildings in the background remind me of Hastings.
