Was residence a medical facility?
« on: Wednesday 11 November 20 00:43 GMT (UK) »
A family member died in 1914 of tuberculosis at 60 Hartington Terrace in South Shields.   This is not where the family was living at the time, and I am wondering if the property was used as a sort of hospice or for medical isolation.  Thank you for any help!

Very nice. Would be a great place to live. All I ask for is South Shields, COUNTY DURHAM.

And if I venture over the river to North Shields its NORTHUMBERAND.

Who was the informant on the death certificate ?

No-one recorded at 60 on the 1911 census.  Always remember that they might have renumbered.

It seems the SNAITH name mentioned by Mckha489 and Suzard could be answer.

Claremont mentions the Snaith family in a previous post (nosey aren't I ;D)

The only death of a Snaith in 1914 in South Shields is of Elizabeth Snaith aged 18.

Somehow half my post is missing - think it was rifleman Harold Snaith who died will look it up when I get home unless someone has looked on commonwealth war graves before then
