However I think there may be more than one John Price who was a butcher. (Unless he went back?)

As in 1841 there is John Price a Butcher, 45 wife Ann 45 and children including Fanny 15.  With a brother Alfred the same age who was the witness at her 1844 marriage to Louis Jukes.

A John Price and Ann Joins were married at St Thomas 1814.
A bit too early to be your man if age at conviction is accurate.

Yes, 25  July 1829 Oxford Univ and City Herald.
Henry Lock and William Cook, transported for 7 years, for stealing meat from a shop in our market, the property of Mr John Price,  and John Johnson transported for fourteen years for receiving the same were removed to the Justitia hulk....

And this John PRICE can be followed, with more children, etc until 1847 when he died.

Edited - I went to copy from this entry and ended up deleting part of it.  ??? ???

it said there was a marriage of a Susannah HUDSON to John PRICE

Quote
They married in 1820 at St Thomas.
both marked
Witnesses not all clear but one is Eleanor Price and another Susannah Hudson senior.
Note below reads
John Price age 19 was bapt'd Widfield, Derbyshire
Susannah Hudson 17 at St Thos' Oxon
.

There is a baptism 4 Dec 1808 for a Joseph son of William and Eleanor PRICE, but I cannot see a baptism for John.

three children to John & Susannah
1821 William abode Hamel, occ Labourer
1824 John, abode Ox Street, occ Labourer
1827 James, Abode Hamel, occ Labourer

So the occupation is an issue.

Thanks so much for your prompt reply.
I have been out of circulation for a little while, hence the late reply.
You have given me some clues that are useful in completing a full picture of their lives. Now I'll check some DNA connections.
Once again thanks.
Janet
