Harraway/Baynes Family Hull
« on: Wednesday 11 November 20 15:17 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I'm trying to find photographs of my grandmother's dad. Her father David George Baynes and Her mother Edith Clara Burtenshaw from Hull. Her dad was born 1914 and died 1973 I believe. Any photos of them together but more specifically just her father would be greatly appreciated! I tried ancestry.com but cant seem to get very far

Welcome to Rootschat Amy  :D

I assume that the below is the man you are looking for a photo of?

Birth:-

BAYNES, GEORGE  DAVID     Mother's maiden name: PEEL
GRO Reference: 1915  J Quarter in SCULCOATES  Volume 09D  Page 321

He appears on 22 trees on Ancestry, date of birth given as 14th May 1915.  He died in 1973 in Hull.

You can contact some of the tree members to see if they can assist with a photo of him.  I don't have a sub to Ancestry so not sure that I can contact anyone, but in any case it would be up to you to make the contact.

Have you tried tracing descendants to see if any of them have any photos?
Ashford: Somerset, London
England: Devon, London, New Zealand
Holdway: Wiltshire
Hooper: Bristol, Somerset
Knowling: Devon, London
Southcott: Devon, China
Strong: Wiltshire
Watson: Cambridgeshire
White: Bristol
Windo - Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire

Hi Guys!

Thank you for your replies! I actually used a site called Myheritage and uploaded the blurry image on ancestry. After working on the photo and editing it I have managed to come up with a pretty lifelike image! I highly recommend using the software on this site. Its brilliant.

That's great you were able to do something with the photo as it was rather small  :D
