Elizabeth Shilton/Shelton marriage 1890

Hello All.

I have details of a two marriages the first one 6/12/1890 St Philip's Lambeth
William Henry Griffiths to Elizabeth Shilton or Shelton

The other being 11/9/1905 Stonebridge Parish Church, Middlesex.

William Mansell to Elizabeth Griffiths widow

I have had these details a few years and can't remember where I obtained them.
Are there images that I saw.

Unfortunately only the first one as an image and the second one is the one I really wanted. Alan

On her first marriage she has her name as Shilton reg. Shillton and her father as John Shilton.
On her second marriage she has her father as John Shelton.
On her birth it has Shelton mothers maiden name Murphy.
1881 census Shilton widowed mother Ellen.

but I can't find a marriage John Shilton/Shelton and Ellen Murphy.

I just suddenly wondered if there is a baptism at Philp's Lambert for Elizabeth she was born 6/12/1870.

There's a possible match on FreeBMD Dec Qtr 1853 St George Southwark-John SHILLTON and Eleanor HUTT.

It looks like that could well be her because looking at that 1881 census their surname was spelt Shillton.

I got the DOB from the 1939. So may be she was born 1869. I can see now the birth I had was Elizabeth Shelton June qtr 1871.

The thing that is strange is her death in 1949 says she was 74. Although the address where she died is the address they were at in 1939.

Thanks Maureen for your help rechecking everything her name was Shillton and not Shilton even on her first marriage. So that is her parents. The thing that threw me was when she put Shelton on her second marriage.

Spelling could be pretty irregular on a lot of records.

Glad you're sorted with the parents now.
