Johnston Family in Dundalk
« on: Thursday 12 November 20 01:37 GMT (UK) »
Searching for descendants of my great-grandparents, Michael and Jane (nee Carter) Johnson, who lived on Park St., Dundalk.  My grandfather, Henry Richard Johnston, born in 1864, came to the USA perhaps in late 1880s.  He was youngest of approximately 7 children.  Would like to connect with relatives.

Civil registration of Catholic marriages also started in 1864 so for marriage of Michael & Jane (probably before 1855) and children born before 1864 you'll need to see if church records of marriage and baptisms exist for that period. Fortunately many parish registers are online. Dundalk is here (covers a wide range of dates which should help you find more of the family)-

Once you find baptisms for other children then you can go back to the civil records to search for marriages, deaths, their children, etc. and 1901 & 1911 census.
