Lincoln Workhouse death 1852-Looking for the burial
« on: Saturday 14 November 20 13:30 GMT (UK) »
I have a death certificate from 1852 at the Lincoln Union Workhouse but unable to locate a burial record anywhere.

FindMyPast doesn't have it listed as I think it's a bit earlier than their records (or simply hasn't been transcribed).

The 1851 census shows the deceased in the workhouse with three of his children and he's noted as "head" in inverted commas with the children noted as son/daughter as applicable.
His wife and remaining children are in Hungate Court.

John Chambers, 1851 gives pob as Tattershall abt 1788, (age 63).  The 1841 suggests abt 1800.

Death cert is 25th Nov 1852 and gives age as 64.

As the workhouse was in St Peter Eastgate (Lincoln), I have checked the burial register for the time frame and can not find him.

Thanks for looking.

I've always struggled to go back from him, heaps coming forward but those two census returns don't give much away and the death cert is he only other bit of the paper trail.
