The census only tells us she was born in Wales, looking for a baptism with parents Wm & Ann c1818 =/- 2 years brings up around 12 possibles in Wales on FindMyPast.  We can't assume she was born in Glamorganshire as that is where we think she met Joseph.   She is certainly elusive

I wonder what happened to her between 1851/61  :-\

Yeah it's an unfortunate mix of dying before the next census and no marriage certificate. Runs in the family though, can't find her daughters marriage either.

Are you sure that she died rather than split up with Joseph Slee.

Do you have Caroline on census in 1861.  I presume that she 'married' Thomas Turner and was probably in Canada in 1871.

It's marked him down as a widow on the attached.

And no, I don't have Caroline on the 1861 and 1871 census. I can't find her husband either on the in the 61/71 census. They would both be 19 to 17 in 1861 so maybe there married then? Just realised I probably don't have World Wide for my subscription. Thanks, I might have a dig to see if there are any Candian Censuses I can look at.
