Francis Joseph Moore - Uniform?

Can anybody help me identify this uniform. I thought it look like Police, but he wasn't in the Police force and he was in WW1 in Welsh Fusiliers, but this looks much later than WW1. He is much older than he would have been in WW1. Any help would be great. He was in London during WW2. He moved from Wales in the 1920s.

Is Francis on the 1939 Register?
If so what is his occupation?

Hi Tony,

Yes he is. He’s a Metal Sorter. That’s why I’m confused, as it doesn’t relate to any of his jobs I have on paper post WW1 - in Wales before he moved he was a Miner.

Thank you Tony. Yes, I didn’t think it was army but didn’t know where to post it. There’s no markings on buttons to be army. Could a commissionaire also work at a cinema? I remember a story that most of the family worked at the Savoy Cinema in Acton. My grandmother was an usherette there too.

Could it be a WW2 Air Raid Warden's uniform?  If you go right to the bottom of the page here https://www.ww2civildefence.co.uk/uniforms.html the poster on the right hand side looks very like the one in your photo.

I don't think ARP wardens would have had fancy epaulettes like FJM's. After further researtch, ARP warden could be a good shout! See the epaulettes in this photo: https://tinyurl.com/y4hw9cb3

It's tagged as an ARP warden but the helmet insignia looks like "LFB " - London Fire Brigade?
