Service details for James Cropper
« on: Monday 16 November 20 08:45 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone point me in the direction for finding the WW2 records for James Cropper. All I know is that he was in the Royal Engineers for2 years 3 months and then with the Central Mediterranean forces for a year.

James was born in Fleetwood Lancashire October 1923.

Any help would be appreciated

regards
Dinkey

His records will still be held by the MOD, information on how to apply for them are on the Government website.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/request-records-of-deceased-service-personnel
https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records

You'll need a Death Certificate, a Date of Birth OR a Service Number, and a fee of £30.

(...and a long wait!!)

Thanks for responding Kiltaglassan.

Probably an even longer wait too because of Covid.
