I have contacted Twyford School and they have responded quickly with information. Fred worked there  for 58 years! They have sent us copies from an illustrated history. It mentions him having a runner at  cricket due to a 'stiff' leg before WW2.

Wow 58 years at the school!

The book “Twyford School - an illustrated history by Roger Porteus appears to be available from Amazon.

We have ordered that book to be delivered to our Uk address as postage out here in Gozo by Amazon is monstrous! My son can then post it out, its cheaper that way.
