Noyce, Noyes, Nash, Naish name derivatives.
« on: Monday 16 November 20 19:27 GMT (UK) »
Hello everyone.
I started researching my family about ten years ago and got side-tracked but I decided to come back to it this year:)
I'm trying to link potential family members in Hampshire and I have a question.
Findmypast and my local genealogy group gives an option for name variants. I have picked up in the past that the names Noyce, Noyes, Noyse, Noise could have a variant of Naish or Nash.
I haven't used Naish or Nash in my research so far. Can anyone tell me if this is a true variant and if it is worth pursuing? The period that I'm looking at is 1720-1800
Many thanks
Philip

Thanks garstonite!

I'm looking at Itchen Stoke, Bishops Sutton and East Meon.
My search to date has centred around Noyce, Noyes, Noise etc but if the variants of the name are relevant then I need to expand my search. There are lots more Naishes and that will make it more challenging!  I have seen a parish record which records Naish which I know should be Noyce which is another reason I ask.

Many thanks.

ps is Genanet a good website. It looks free?

Geneanet is free to join - a lot of familytrees are free - but some are a small Pay per view - when you look on the left of each name if it has a large yellow P on it you have to pay - a GREEN TREE is free to view ... :)
