The above children's mother is recorded as Bertha Georgina Althouse b 16 Jan 1873 Strathroy, Middlesex, Ontario; she was the daughter of Alfred Edgar Althouse 1845-1890 and Clarissa Matilda Lee born 8 Jul 1854-for whom I can't find a death record but was alive in 1901.
Bertha is shown on the 1881 & 1891 Canada Censuses in Strathroy and Sarnia, then married Joseph McGirr (1858-1927) in Sarnia 30 Nov 1899, they are recorded on the 1900 US Census at St Clair, Michigan.
However, Bertha brought 2 daughters to her marriage with Joseph: Hazel Eloyse and Minta Marie; these were recorded as being McGirr at 1900 US Census.
I've done a lot of searching but can't find birth records for Hazel and Minta and wonder if Bertha was married before or were they born 'out of wedlock.'
Maybe you will have more luck finding their birth records than me?

The 1910 census Fort Street Port Huron Ward 1 Saint Clair Michigan.

Jos Mc Garr 50   Head. born Ireland. Marriage 1.
Bertha Mcgarr   38   Wife. Born Canada. 3 children.  Marriage 2.
Hazel Mcgarr 17   Daughter. born Canada.
Minta Mcgarr 10   Daughter. born Canada.
Jos Mcgarr 10   So. born Michigan.
