McGiverns and Ferrises in Ireland and McGleaves and Morgans in England?
« on: Thursday 19 November 20 19:31 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Started my family history very recently, and have had some excellent help so far, from a newly discovered relative.

However, I would like to find out more about what so far seems to be the McGiverns in Ireland and McGleaves in England?

I have Michael McGivern (1863-1931, born Ireland), and Mary McGleave (1863-, born England), and his parents, Lawrence McGivern and Ann Morgan.  I have no other information on Ann.

I think McGivern and McGleave had at least 3 children. The eldest were John J (born 1884/5) and Mary A (born 1885/6), and they were born in England.  Perhaps Gateshead or Cockermouth, but unsure.  They may have moved to Merseyside, if that information is correct.

My great grandfather was their younger son, also Michael (1893-1970), who married Elizabeth Ferris (1897-1969).  I don't know anything about Elizabeth.  My gran, Agnes (1931-2005), was their daughter.

If you can shed any light on any of these, please get in touch.

Thanks in advance.

Doug

Ann McGivern death, Belfast, 1913, age 75

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1913/05321/4480926.pdf

Think that's the wrong death- Belfast one is for an Ann Jane McGivern widow of Michael (a dealer)

It's likely that Ann (Morgan) McGivern, widow of Laurence, died after 1921 (Irish Geneaolgy only goes up to 1921 for N.I. counties and you need to search GRONI's database)

Possibility (from GRONI) although age is out-
D/1922/128/1015/7/500   Ann   McGivern   21st January 1922   81      Female   Kilkeel(pre-1973 Q4)

or this one?
D/1937/128/1015/8/500   Ann   McGivern   16th March 1937   94      Female   Kilkeel(pre-1973 Q4)
