I have a marriage for Ralph BALLARD, Mancetter, August 1598.  I cannot decipher the name of the bride.

Perhaps Susan?
Surname: R.........  ??

This has been transcribed by Ancestry from England, Select Marriages, 1538–1973 as Susan Rowditch which looks distinct possibilty to me but would appreciate other opinions.

The date has been transcribed as 2 August - any agreement?

The date says the 'ij day', (the 2nd), although it would be good to compare some more of how this scribe writes numbers. These are the only ones on this clip. You need to see if there is a 'v' on the page for comparison.

I think 'Susan Rowditch' looks a good possibility. Certainly 'Ro??itch'

It would be helpful to post a slightly bigger clip of the page so letters like the 'o', the 'w' and the 'd' can be compared. In particular the 'd' - this seems to be a very backward sloping one in the middle. I see in the entry above just squeezed in on this clip, what looks like a name 'foord', which also has a very backward sloping 'd'.
The tail of the 'p' in Ralph above obscures the letters slightly which doesn't help.
