Going by the location of Kinnoull, this may be it, possibly a farm back in the day although I can't find anything for the period in Tax Rolls etc...

Woodend appears to have been a large house on the east side of the R. Tay, located between the river and the Dundee Road and opposite the N. end of Friarton Island.

It is shown on the Thomson 1832 map of Perthshire (https://maps.nls.uk/atlas/thomson/)

Regards,  Istrice.

Annie,

Woodend is shown as a substantial property to the north of the location of the toll house.

The John Thomson Atlas of Scotland (1832), which I referenced, shows Perth and Clackmannan on four sheets.  If you refer to the SE Sheet and locate Perth and "Brend" (Bridgend) on the east side of the Tay, "Woodend" is south of the latter location.

I suspect that the house may have been demolished during the construction of the Perth/Dundee railway in the mid 1800's.

The nearest I could get to its location from old maps was a house by the name of Burnhills (possible name change from Woodend ?) which itself became part of the railway's "Burnhill Sidings" shown on later OS Maps.

Railway land plans and/or associated legal paperwork may hold a clue to the history of Woodend, failing which the former Register of Sasines may possibly provide further information.

Thanks Istrice...

I did find the map on your link but was struggling to compare the old & new but I can now see what's where.
