Polish/German Roman Catholic Baptism Records (Latin??)

Hi Everyone, looking for a little bit of help to decipher a document if possible... image 5, 3rd name down... link 1 below if you need the original. Trying to work out what the names are? And some of the details? Any any other information it might hold. Help much appreciated hoping to find some links 😁

I have also found another record which matches with the parents just struggling with the handwriting... Leo Bombera, whom I believe to be my grandads uncle.. just unsure of exactly what the parents names are with the handwritting? This one is on page 41 5 down on the second link.

Its been suggested that maybe some of it is Latin?

The forenames are in their Latin forms, as is usual for RC records.

Surnames of Polish females end in "a" so at least we know that "ska" is correct.

Her surname should be Kinowska with witnesses Jozef Wieczerski and Marianna Murawska. I'm really not sure what the given name 'Oviantius' is supposed to translate to.

Oh brilliant I Will make a note of those thank you...

Basically I am researching my great grandfather his name is Vincent Bombera, I was hoping that maybe that the 'Oviantus' would maybe be 'Vincentius' that Latin for Vincent.. but very much a case of seeing what I wanted to see... so nice to have a different pair of eyes. All I know of his siblings is that he had a brother name Leon 'Leo' so again with the second record maybe just seeing what I wanted to see.. have no birth records or anything for Leo so just trying to put 2 and 2 together..

The 2 signatures would that be witnesses or godparents would anyone know??

Just hold on a minute...Oviantius was my best attempt at reading the name, coming at it cold.  That is a long way from being set in stone.

For comparison, on this same page we have:

On 6/3, a boy girl named Pelagia - the father appears to be Vincentius.

On 15/2, another boy girl named Pelagia - the mother is Victoria (for another example of the letter V).

I wouldn't rule out that the Bombere/Bombera record is Vincentius.

From the fourth letter onwards it looks more or less the same.

The letters before that pose more problems.

Actually I think the two Pelagias are daughters.

I have rechecked the second of your links.  (Others note the record is on page 41 as was stated, but the link goes to page 1 of the set.)

This is indeed a boy named Leo - parents Franciscus Bombera and Anastasia.  Her surname looks similar to that on the first record.

In a situation like this it's useful to put an asterisk next to the information (re Vincent's birth) but proceed with your research on the assumption that the first record is indeed a Vincent.

Keep researching this couple and see whether you can find confirmation of the child's name in further discoveries.  For example there might be a grandparent's will.
