Emigration - Watson Family of Sussex
« on: Saturday 21 November 20 14:42 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

My brick wall relates to two brothers and a sister who I feel may have emigrated.

The last entries I can find for all 3 family members are in the 1851 England Census in Westham, Sussex and because a family member later emigration to Illinois in 1881, I wondered if perhaps the following may have been trailblazers for others to follow?

I am looking for Edwin Watson (baptized 7 April 1833); John Andrew Watson (baptized 1 June 1834); and Sarah Ann Watson (baptized 5 August 1838). They were all born in Westham, Sussex.
Their parents were John Watson (1804-1887) and Charlotte Foord (1804-1888).

Thomas Patrick Watson (1860- 1933) whose father was their brother Alfred John Watson (born 1832), emigrated in 1881 and died in Alabama in 1933.  He married in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois in 1885.

I have looked at familysearch.org and there are entries which seem possible but I would appreciate any information that may show if they did indeed emigrate - There is no sign of any of them after 1851 in England.

Many thanks for  looking

Alan
