Is there any obituary
« on: Saturday 21 November 20 21:27 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone, I'm just looking through some of the information I have on a relative of mine, Uriah Halsall. With some help I've found lots of info on him but I've not found any obituary. I know most people back then didnt have one but I thought it was worth asking just incase. This is Uriah's death certificate;

Death Certificate
Date and Place of Death: 20th Dec 1859, 5 Woodville Terrace, Weston, Everton.
Name and Sex: Uriah Halsall, male      Age: 84 years
Occupation: Gentleman         Informant Name: Uriah H Jones
Informant Address: 94 Chatsworth Street, West Derby.
Qualification: Present at death      Date of Registration: 23rd Dec 1859
Causes of Death: Bilious Fever 8 Weeks, Retention of Urine 6 Weeks

He is buried at St Mary’s Church, Walton on the Hill, Liverpool
Grave Number: 9 3/20B         Date of Interment: 26th December 1859

He left effects of below £450 in his Will.

Can anyone help please?

Couldn't find an obituary on Uriah Halsall, from online Newspapers, but there are a number of articles regarding the Death Informant, Uriah Halsall Jones. He was a Liverpool Builder, whose Business went into Administration.

As he had not been found, I decided to look for deaths in January 1860, using just Uriah.

F M P has him as HaNall, as does BNA.

Just for interest - Uriah H Jones (Coal Merchant) has moved into 5 Woodville Terrace by the time of the 1861 census - RG9/2715 folio 58 page 20.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
