Missing Canonbie PRs
« on: Sunday 22 November 20 12:04 GMT (UK) »
I understand that Cromwell's troops destroyed many of the baptism, marriage & examination rolls from the years 1612 to 1648 while they were in the area during the Civil War. I was also told that some Canonbie records were lost in later years dur to various reasons.. Does anyone know which years are missing?
Cheers,
Bob

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
