Sorted thankyou
« on: Tuesday 24 November 20 12:14 GMT (UK) »
So in hubby's tree we have David moore(1869 Moulton) married ada Emma Woods(1871) in stepney 1901.
On some of their children's births it has on the transcribed record (on FindMyPast) a mother's maiden name of Huggins, but when you go on the actual record, there is no mmn for any of them. The children are
Elsie Moore 1899 plomesgate
May Moore 1904 depwade(mmn Huggins)
Edith Moore 1906 depwade(mmn Huggins)
Priscilla Moore 1909 depwade
I can find no record of a Wood marrying a Huggins.
To make it even more confusing we have a photo here of a sybil huggins(the photo was in 1  of hubby's grandmother's albums)
Any advice please?
Thanks

Ada Emma Wood married Francis Henry Lee.

David actually married Annie Summerfield.
This David Moore appears to be born in Woolwich London, not Moulton.

Just for your information.  Mother's maiden surname for birth registrations dating from 1837 can be seen on the GRO website.

https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/indexes_search.asp

Findmypast are gradually adding these maiden names to their (old) indexes but it will probably take awhile to complete.

June quarter - 1898 - Kingston Registration District

David Moore and Ada Huggins appear on the same page
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
