David Henry BOUNDY (b 1873 Cramlington, Northumberland) - to Illinois
« on: Tuesday 24 November 20 22:53 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I am trying to find any details about David Henry BOUNDY (b 1873 Cramlington) to David & Sarah Boundy.

In 1881 Census the Boundy family were listed with William Reynolds. Shown as son-in-law, but his marriage in 1872 was to Sarah Jane Rickard. Three sons also listed with David and Sarah Boundy. The father, David Boundy was killed in a mining accident a week after the Census was completed in 1881.

I have found David H Boundy's two brothers, James R Boundy (b 1878) and William Thomas Boundy (b 1880) in Illinois. All I can find for David H Boundy is his naturalization in 1895, and a marriage entry 1896-1904: David Boundy and Margaret Carrigan. According to a brief sighting of the 1910 US Census (Illinois), David and Maggie Boundy had a son, also David (b 1908).

This is the only information I have been able to find, anywhere. I would appreciate any further information about this particular family. Thank you.

--------------
is the W Reynolds, witness to his naturalization, the same W. Reynolds the family was living with in 1881?

------------
possibly his son David's burial (b 1908, d 1960), and hint of another Boundy family in the area:

son David is in the Peoria City Directories until at least 1956 according to ancestry's index. (I didn't look at images)

"died catlin appendicitis" - Catlin could be the Township, place of death. he was there in 1901, but in Danville, same county, in 1910

I'm not sure this is your David's son. There is a David H Boundy in Tazewell Co, IL in 1910 and 1920, son of Walter and Harriet. Walter is the other Boundy I referred to in the same cemetery listing at findagrave.
And in 1910, David and Margaret had no children in the household and also according to her information: 0 children, 0 living.

Walter may be a brother of the elder David, as his parents are listed as David and Sarah in his death record.  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N32L-CRM

Yes. a tree at ancestry says his parents were David and Sarah [Reynolds], but he names a son Walter Rickard Boundy. The tree lists "your" David, James R, and a sister Katie Williams as siblings, but says Katie was born 1890. It has the elder David Boundy's death correct as 1881, so Katie might be a mistake.

Hello shellyesq & oldohiohome,

Thank you. Yes, William Thomas Boundy (d 1929) is in fact a brother to David Henry Boundy. They must have all emigrated mid-1880's, after death of their father.

If David died in 1912, is there anywhere the Death Registration is available, online?

There was a very large family of Boundy's settled around Peoria, Illinois, descendants of the two brothers.  It is now probable after your postings that the David Boundy I thought was their son, is probably the son of Walter and Harriet Boundy.

I was not aware of a Katie Williams, as a sister. I have queried the marriage of David H Boundy and Sarah Jane Rickard, after seeing the 1881 census entry.

It becomes confusing. Thank you for your help. Regards.

Illinois didn’t start statewide death registration until 1916, and only some counties did before that. The Illinois site doesn’t have any from that county.
