 shellyesq, oldohiohome . . . .

Do you know what became of Margaret (called Maggie) Boundy, after the death of her husband?
 Did she remarry perhaps? Thanks.

This looks like Margaret with her family of origin in Catlin, IL in 1900.  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MSHR-RPQ

Find a Grave has this Margaret associated with that family.  https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/120031853/margaret-m.-mchatton

If that's the right one, this is her death record - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NQS2-HCS

Husband #2 appears to be Willis E. McHatton.  1930 census - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X3MP-YX2  The age at first marriage fits with it being a 2nd marriage for both.

1920 census - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MJC1-P5X

they were married by 1918
Willis Edwin McHatton
born Nov 17, 1873
WWI Draft, Sep 12, 1918, Danville, IL
nearest relative: Mrs Margaret McHatton
their address: 24 1/2 Jackson, Danville

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:7QJF-4FN2

---------
Danville City Directories at ancestry skip from 1910 to1920. So no way to see if Willis was listed with a wife Margaret before 1918.

---------
and Willis may have married again, if his birth year is way off on this death record:

Willis McHatton
d 4 Jan 1937, Danville
b 17 Nov 1883 [same day and month. the year is off by 10 years. no image - was it the transcriber?]
spouse: Mabel Harding
buried Catlin, Vermilion County, IL

The 1871 census helps to explain the Reynolds - Rickard connection. Sarah Jane Rickard was the step daughter of William Reynolds. William Reynolds second wife was Jane Rickard - marriage Tavistock, Devon Oct - Dec 1860 ( they are in Tavistock in the 1861 census).

It looks like Sarah Jane was the daughter of James and Jane Rickard. Groindex would suggest that Jane's maiden name was Thomas. This is Sarah Jane's baptism. ( NB. Although Calstock is in Cornwall it is near to Tavistock in Devon).

I think this is the marriage between James Rickard and Jane Thomas.

David died 23 Jan. 1912, per funeral home records.  http://www.papedatabase.com/view.php?id=249434

Looking at this record, I think "dnvpress-dem 01/24+31" means he had an obituary or funeral notice in the Danville Press-Democrat on January 24 & 31.  It doesn't look like this newspaper is online for that time frame, but the Danville Public Library does do research for a fee.  https://danvillepubliclibrary.org/archives/

Hello shellyesq, oldohiohome & Millmoor,

Wow! Thank you. That's so amazing to discover this morning! It certainly does complete the story of Maggie Boundy. For that, I am most grateful.

It also now clarifies the 1881 Census entry with the Reynolds family in Northumberland, England and marriage of David Boundy (1851-1881) and Sarah Rickard, the parents of (my) David Henry Boundy (1873-1912), which started this thread. Very much appreciated. Thanks again. regards.
