hi thanks for the replys.

I am still not sure but i have been going through what i have found so far i have been looking for a coal porter as harry has it as his occupation. however on the birth certificate the entry says Dock labourer.

I did come across a traveller family father is Job lee and the son Edward Lee. Both are Dock Labourers. I found that in 1817 they were at Bow Common Lane Caravan, Mile End Old Town, London-Middlesex, England.

have been searching through i did find an Edward R Lee as a lodger. he was a coal porter from derbyshire chesterfield.
1871 - Prebend St, London, London-Middlesex, England

So i want to rule them out. i cant find Job lee's son and his family.

I could not trace the lodger's family.

I am really looking for the name Thomas Henry Lee date of birth range harry used is 1875 and 1877 so 1881 is the sticking point.

Edwards occupation was Coal porter so could be dock Laborour too i suppose. Harry used bromley by bow as birth place too?

this is proving more difficult than anyone else in the tree ???

I might need to start a fresh topic it is so confusing.

Thanks
Alex

He is transcribed as Jas H Lee in 1881 in West Ham (Canning Town)
As I pointed out a while ago. Part of it is a bit faded.
Maybe it's just me, but I think it says Thos.

I see that Catherine Lee and her other two sons Joseph and George are back in Bromley in 1901

Catherine and Joseph in Bromley in 1911
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XWPD-HJ2

You will want to check how many children she says she has had, and are still living.

Interesting from Rosie's list that Harry's children have names including Kate and Joseph, and also George is used as a second name

Hi i have been searching around and have found some more to support Catherine and Edward. i am in agreement that it says thos as you can see a clear difference with the jas and it looks like the pen just came off the paper as it was writen.
i was unsure about thomas harry as i have a birth cert with thomas henry on it. I thought it would be odd that if he was harry then why would he put henry on the birth cert. so i had a look on the BMD website and i may have made a discovery. ;D

All these names are on  Poplar 1c 664
RAWN Samuel
CAPLETON  Mabel
DREW John Walter
GILBERT James
GRIFFIN Frederick William
LEE Thomas Harry
Lee Thomas Henry
MAXWELL Annie Adeline
MOULTON William
PITTMAN Mabel
WARMAN William Alfred

I am not sure which way to go next do i try to get a copy of the birth certificates or can i find out another way the dates and the maiden names for both of them.

i am still confused but i think that it is getting clearer.

You can get the mother's maiden name from the indexes on the GRO website.  You need to be registered (which I guess you are)
https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

Birth in 1876
LEE, THOMAS  HARRY
Mother's Maiden Surname: HALE
GRO Reference: 1876  J Quarter in POPLAR  Volume 01C  Page 664

The new index says Thomas Harry. If you purchase the certificate - or the cheaper pdf - you will be able to see if you think it says Thomas Harry or Thomas Henry.

John
I recon you are on to it.
I have dug around a bit more edward was married to eleanor spelling i think and had several children. Thomas H must be Catherine's but John i think is eleanors. There is no death of eleanor in BMD. I want to be sure so i got the marraige cert for thomas Henry and Mary Ann it has his age on it  22  the wedding was 25 dec 1898. this would be correct if it was him. He has signed Thomas Henry on the marriage cert now as well as the birht cert for my Thomas william. I have asked for the PDF so we will have to wait for it to come through. So hopefully now i may be able to get passed it.

Thanks
Alex
