There are certainly plenty of issues with ancestry!

You can see the missing 1861 census image on FamilySearch, it is a bit gloomy though

Trish is brilliant, by the way.

Absolutely!

I've found the same with Ancestry. They appear to have simply uploaded information without any real attempt to catalogue it correctly, and they don't spend any time checking what has been posted (my wife's great uncle was recorded by one optimist as still working as a truck driver at the ripe old age of 122 years!).

Presumably the truck driver was shown as being age 122 in someone's tree?

Do you expect Ancestry to check trees that are user-submitted?

Good luck with your search.....

Peter

I have found most of the ancestry trees on there riddled with errors. It's such a shame. Many subscribers seem to just see the hints with the name they are looking for and add it to their tree, without diligent checking.
Thankyou !

I agree totally Anc is riddled with errors and people just copy others Trees without any research of their own.
But all the same I would be lost without using it!

Thank you for that lovely compliment Peter/jonw65 :)
