Viktoria, an acrylic pour is done by mixing acrylic paint with PVA glue and a little water to a pouring consistency, you then pour a little of each colour into a plastic cup (as my art teacher says, like a lasagne) without mixing them any further. The colours sit on top of each other. The next step is to put the canvas (or whatever you're using) on top of the cup then tip the whole thing upside down. You remove the cup after letting the paint run down, it then flows across the canvas and makes wonderful random patterns. There are many variations on this technique including adding silicone to make cells. Very messy but great fun! Lots of demos on YouTube.

Caroline, I wouldn't recommend using water with the acrylic paint, it disperses the pigment and you'd just get a light glaze instead of any meaningful colour. Are you wanting to use clear baubles because you want to be able to get a glimpse? Or is it because of the painting of them? If it's just the painting, you could use the acrylic pour mix on coloured ones, I've painted vases with it, it'll stick to anything.

Annette, hope you've had a good visit to Scarlett today. Good luck with the hair colour.

Roobarb - thanks for the tips re painting... in that case it wasn’t acrylic paint... as the demo I saw it was definitely mixed in water as you could  gather it up afterwards with paper towels and just lift it straight out of the  water. Once you’d dipped in the baubles.

Ah yes you’re right I had an inkling ( opps sorry for the pun 😂) that it wasn’t acrylic but couldn’t remember what... bit like not remembering silicone the other day and referring to it as rubber.... blimy my memory is failing me... must be all this exciting life we’re leading 😢😢...
Thanks for putting me right!
