This is from Penrith Local Board newspaper report in 1878 (I think there is another Post Office Lane in Parton, near Whitehaven,), so the lane is still named as such.

I am unsure why the lane is listed as it is. Although I think Post Office Lane was part of Rowcliffe or a small lane coming off of it (From what I can see the small lanes on the surveyor map coming off Rowcliffe lane no longer appear to be there). I will contact cfhs and other historical sources and see what they say as I have not been able to locate where Post Office Lane itself Is/was.
