39th Brigade Royal Field Artillery history Pre WW1.

My Grandfather was KIA on day 53 of WW1 and I have his brigade's War diary.  His service records were destroyed in WW2.  Do any of you knowledgeable people know if it is possible to find out what XXXIX Brigade, Royal Field Artillery were doing pre-1914, please?  (If you're unfamiliar with Roman numerals, it's 39)

39th Brigade Royal Field Artillery may not have existed as such before 1914 and was formed when the 1st Infantry Division mobilized for war at the outbreak of WW1.
