I would like to thank you all for your suggestions to help me find, “Pioneers of Marlborough”.
Fresh Fields. I will certainly contact the Auckland Museum and see what I can find out about the descendants of the author, Rex Alexander Weber.
Lucy2. I was not aware that Rex Weber had authored a second book about the Fullers, “Marlborough is our Homeland” – Fuller and Esson Families. The Esson’s were in-laws of the Fullers. What “gems” might be in that publication ? I am a member of Ancestry and therefore should be able to access at least the public “Family Trees” of the Fuller’s.
Spades. Thank you for your offers to help.
Minniehaha. Thank you for letting me know that there are two copies of the book in the Marlborough Public Library, one for Reference, the other available to Loan. I have already written to the publishers, Tiger Media and am waiting for a response from them.
I found the Obituaries which you sent Minniehaha fascinating. I had never seen them before. Anne Fuller obviously was quite a character, widowed, the first white woman in the area, opening a Store for the Maoris and Whalers. Reading a brief synopsis of her life has made me even more determine to find out more about her. If anyone else comes across any other snippets of information about her, I would love to hear from you.
Thank you all again for your help.
