George William Balmer
« on: Thursday 03 December 20 16:29 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to find George William Balmer on 1939 register but he seems to have joined up at the start of the war underage (17). So it's likely he is training but I don't know what regiment it was only that he was in Burma and survived. He's born in London in 1921 but Scottish by heritage, his father served in the King's Own Scottish Borders in WW1. Can anyone help please or point me in the right direction? I've tried Forces war records and Fold3. Thx Helen
Regards

Helen

If he had already signed up he would not be on the 1939 register.

WW2 records are still with the MOD and not generally available elsewhere
