Jessie Nicol Renwick from Scotland
« on: Sunday 06 December 20 19:56 GMT (UK) »
My great grandmother, Jessie Nicol Renwick born in 1863, but the photo was taken in 1929.  This is the only photo I have of her so I edited out the other two people. I’m hoping for colorization and the removal of the leg and hands beside her.  I’d appreciate whatever can be done.
Thank you,
Bev

Very little to go on I would say. Any chance of a better scan?
Are you sure this is your GG grandmother?

Had a go but, as JF said, a better scan would help - restorers could get a much better result for you.

Apologies but I think this looks like a male in every sense from features to clothing, pose & hairstyle?

Oh my gosh, I think you’re correct.  I looked at the original photo, which is very small, and enlarged the individual sitting to the left of my great grandfather and realized the person is a man!  I always just assumed the person was my great grandmother, Jessie Renwick but now I don’t know the name of this ancestor.  Thank you for your very honest comment.

As they say, honesty is the best policy.

Maybe post the whole image to see if people can work out if there are likenesses with the others to your g g/father i.e. possible family members?

Actually I tried but couldn’t upload the photo. The file was rejected.

Bev, it would normally only be rejected for one of two reasons: the file is too large (greater than 500 kb), or it has the same name as the one you already posted (you can't have two with the same name). Hope this helps.
