Thanks Sandra. Very much appreciated.

A question that someone may know the answer to. Are columbarium inscriptions included in the ocfa and genweb data base?

Thanks Don. So Dr Laurie is still alive in 1979 and living in Barrie. I am going to have another go at the local cemeteries.

Ed,

I don't believe so and I don't know of anyone who has these records in Ontario other than the Crematoriums.

If he died after 1979 then send an email off to the library they will have access to his obit.  A man doesn't serve his community for as long as he did without having one, even if he retired elsewhere.

Don

I have turned off all email notifications, thank you.

I was hoping that the info on the columbarium plaques would have been recorded similar to the headstones. Afterall it is the same info at least what I have seen.

Obit for Mary B Laurie in the Globe and Mail 25 Feb 1989, page A15.

It says she died at her home in Barrie on 24 Feb 1989.  Wife of Dr Neil Laurie of Barrie.  The rest of her obit is basically the same as her husband's obit....same children living in the same places.  Same  number of grand and great granchildren.  Funeral Mass in same Church.

Well done RK.  At least the dates on the anc trees given in reply 3 were accurate, you never can tell.  Hope these helped narrow down the time frame for newspaper searches.
