I see that Maurice is one of ten on the website for whom the CWGC are appealing for relatives.  Do they do their own research for relatives or just expect them to come forward if they see their relative's name?

I'm not familiar with how the CWGC relay these appeals for information.  Through the relevant local press?

I sometimes wonder how many of these appeals actually bear fruit.

With the new GDPR regulations (General Data Protection Regulation) CWGC are unable to instigate contact with anyone without their permission.

Due to the various appeals, relatives have come forward as a result of appeals on forums, newspapers, tv etc and contacted CWGC.

Well that's good news Sandra.  Let's hope they manage to make contact with some if not all of the relatives of the others they were looking for.

Sometimes the lines have died out or there is not a nearer enough relative.  Many ancestry trees owners carry on adding ....6 x cousin removed etc  :-\

If it is a dedication of a headstone it is lovely to see relatives attend and for these service men and woman to have the recognition they so deserve.
