Assem Jervis 1871
« on: Tuesday 08 December 20 17:28 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for family details of Assem Jervis who appears in the 1881 census in Stoke upon Tern. He was born in 1866 in Stoke upon Tern.

I would appreciate any assistance

Best Wishes

In 1891 there is a Anna Jervis, 25, born Stoke Upon Tern, living in household of William Nagington.
I think you need to see the original records of the 1881 and 1891 entries. I suspect there may be an error of transcription.

Also think there's a transcription error. Stoke upon Tern comes under Mt Drayton reg dist. Below is a contender.

Births Jun 1867
JERVIS    Ann        Mt. Drayton    6a   767     mother's maiden name Maddocks.

'Assem' is clearly Assem and male, but looks to become Anna in same household 10 years later.  So I think the person writing up the 1881 just could not read the original entry and has written what he thought it should be.
