I’m trying to find a baptism for Sarah Twigg/s nee Andrews, b Quorndon around 1790ish.
John Twigg and Sarah Andrew were married by banns in Quorndon on 4 Feb 1811.Witnesses Joseph Jackson and Ann Andrews.
I can’t find any baptisms for this couple until 1823 when they bapt Eliza (Twiggs) in Quorndon. John died in Quorndon in 1836. Eliza married in Nottingham in 1840 (I have this certificate) and the 1851 and 1861 censuses confirm her POB as Quorndon. Eliza's address when she married was Newcastle St, Nottingham.
I can’t see any trace of Sarah Twigg/s in the subsequent Quorndon registers. I think it may be her in Nottingham in the 1841 and 1851 censuses:
1841, surname Twiggs: Sarah age 50, James age 20, Jane age 10, and Hannah Humber age 20 (Hannah m James Twigg). None born in county. At Duttons Court, St Mary, Nott.
1851: Twiggs: James age 31, Hannah (his wife) age 29, Ann (daughter) age 3; then separate household at same address, Sarah age 63, a widow and lodger. All born in Quorndon.
The only death that fits is that of Sarah buried in Sneinton in 1854, age 65.
But I can’t find any suitable baptisms for Sarah Andrew/s in or around Quorndon at the right time. Nor can I see any baptisms for James and Jane, to reassure me that the Nottingham family is the right one. Can anyone spot anything?
