Was Oswestry part of Welly parish? I know it was once part of St Asaph I think but how far west did Welly extend?

Surely not - opposite ends of county. Oswestry had its own parish - now two, Urban and Rural. It was once part of St Asaph diocese I think, but that's another matter. Since Church in Wales and C of E are now separate, I think no longer in St Asaph - Hereford?

Oswestry was a parish in it's own right and, as Chris has said, is the other side of the county.

If it's been move from St Asaph it is most likely to be in Lichfield now.
