Marriage from Scotlands People

ELIZABETH TYRE/THOMAS MCDONALD 1877  685/5 26  - Newington

Thank you.  I searched and that didn't come up for me.

Try just searching for Elizabeth Tyre married in 1877  :)

No, I'm trying to find out whether Adam MacDonald and Lilias Maud Turnbull had any other children apart from their daughter Helen born 1921. Lilias died shortly after the birth of Helen in 1921.  They married in 1918.

You can't with births. You can with  deaths after 1974.  Where they living in Newington?

I think that would be Newington (that's where Helen was registered),

There are 30 birth entries for M*cdonald 1918-1921 in Newington. It might be work you bringing them up as you might recognize family names - e.g. Helen is recorded as Helen Edington Mcdonald. You don''t have to use credits for just a preliminary search

Thanks Gadget.  There's no mention of Edington on her birth certificate that I received in the post this week.  Just plain Helen.  Father Adam - Hairdresser, Mother Lilias MacDonald nee Turnbull.

There's only a small window available for children.  They were married in March 1918 and Helen was born June 23 1921.  Lilias died at the beginning of July 1921.  Assuming a nine month pregnancy, any childrn would have had to be born between December 1918 and September 1920 (more likely June or July 1920).

I've just checked with 1918-1920, Canongate and there are 42 entries. Are there any family names that they might have used - e.g. was Helen a family name?
