I have found a family photograph that has few clues apart from it was taken in Bath. I attach both sides of the photo and would welcome any information. Kind regards  Mark

Hi Sarah,

Many thanks for your quick response. I have removed the white and just left the front and back of the picture. My relations came from Dorset and Somerset.

The picture is likely to be from my dad's side:
Foot
Short
Higgins

or from mum's side
Stacey
Hoskins

Many thanks  Mark

From what little there is it looks typically 1880's.
Someone early-mid 20's I would suggest.

Just to add to Jim’s dating, there is a photo with the same back - studio and style of writing - at this link, under Bath in an alphabetical list linking to the owner's photos:
http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~victorianphotographs/family/pixs/carte.htm

He dates his image as 1870s ("m7" being code for “male, 1870s” ) but - go with Jim. ;)

Many thanks and the date 1870's 1880's has given me something to think of. In the 1880's Charles Higgins a solicitor's clerk disappeared and I can not trace him. I have previously asked for any help with him. All I have is my late grandmother's comment that he drowned. It might be a smart picture of him prior to emigrating but possibly wishful thinking! Thank you for your hrelp.  Mark
