Address in Corby Glen
« on: Sunday 13 December 20 15:13 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I am new to this site. I was hoping someone could help me to decipher these street names in the 1861 and 1871 census's.
I think the first one may be 'Corby Lodge'.

The second one I think is '7 Terrace' abbreviated to Ter.

Can anyone let me know what they think?

Thank you.

Hi and welcome  :)

Could you perhaps give us the details of the person at those addresses (name age place of birth) so we can look on census?

You can page back and forward through the census to see if the address is written more clearly on another page or go to page one where the enumerators route is written.

Hi
Yes it's William H Clark living with Robert and Mary Lambert. I have searched the previous addresses...the second one says Terrace so I'm pretty certain about that one. The first one is a little more difficult to decipher. I've tried to compare it with similar letters on the same page.

When I've tried to look for these addresses on the Internet nothing is coming up.

The 1871 address search does have a Terrace in Corby

7 Terrace is occupied by Robert Lambert  RG10/3311/4/2

I'm still looking for the other

Looking at the addresses around Corby Lodge on the 1861, it  seems close to the Station (Hotel) and a Toll

There's a Swayfield Lodge that looks possible:

Ah thank you. I will have a look at these in more detail. This could be the address. Just wondered if anyone else has any info that would help.
Thanks again.  :)
