Hi my great great grandad is Archibald Myers/Mereys..He was born 1815 to 1954..travelled On ship called Mermaid to Victoria Australia, maybe with a Nephew Hugh I read somewhere,this was for gold rush.He was a Stone Mason !! something happened and actually died was sent to Castlemain Hospital Victoria.He Died 1855 but cant find where he is buried.Penny Worth cemetary had one unmarkef grave....but they knew his name??? trying to find his grave in a some of the cemetaries amongst the gold fields Alexandra hill and many in Castlemain gold fild areas .Sooo am sure he would not have been cremated and sent home etc.If anyone can help thats great.also

I see this death in Victoria -
5106/1855 Archibald Myers , age 40.
Doesn't look like there is any further information recorded.
Did he marry in Australia ?

Is there no information in the "when and where buried" column on his death cert?

I am pretty sure it was a criminal offence to cremate humans in 1855 in Victoria.
