Where would my ancestors have worked

On the 1861 census my family are living near Chapel Fold, Northowram, Halifax.

Their occupations were given as worst spinner, colour filler carpet painter and worsted printer.

Can anyone tell where they might have worked? Would it have been a mill or from home?

As ShaunJ says - lots of textile mills in the area, and of course there was Dean Clough Mills, the home of Crossley's Carpets.

That's an interesting map - so many mills.  They could have worked in any of them.

I was thinking of Crossley's carpets, and there were at that time quite a lot of similar firms in the area. They obviously were working in quite a well-organised and decent sized establishment, from the specialised description of the jobs, I'd guess.
