Can anyone help please. My family were there in early 1900s.

Hello SXgal and welcome to RootsChat.

I don't really know the area, however there are references in newspapers to Woodger Terrace being in the Sheepfolds area, and advertisements for sale of land including buildings on Easington St and Woodger Terace (implying they are at the same location). Easington St and Sheepfolds show on this 1913 map (to the left of Wearmouth Bridge, centre right of the map)

Also this 1895 map

Note that Easington St does not appear on this 1855 map.

Interesting - The contents of the Enumuration District in 1901 lists a Woodger Terrace in addtion to Easington Terrace

The 1939 register has Woodger Terrace around Easington Street and Sheepfolds Road, Hay Street and Wreath Quay Road.

If you belong to facebook, this Sunderland group may cover your area, or look for others that usually have a lot of local information.

Thank you all you wonderful people. I had not hoped for such instant help. You are spot on, other rellies at 1 Hodgsons Buildings, the only part still standing and nearby. Lucky me!

Hi,

Not being able to see the fb info I don't know if you have found exactly where Woodger terrace was. I found it on these maps at the bottom of Hay Street,
