Finding a parent after 1806 in Welsh records
« on: Friday 18 December 20 01:04 GMT (UK) »
Hi I am trying to find the parents of David Reynolds. Born 1806. Baptisum Henllan, Carmarthenshire, Wales. I have records of David children, wife (Sarah Davies). Any ideas how I can go back further? The baptisum records doesn't have the parents listed.

Hi there

Do you know what year he married?

The marriage certificate should name his father and his occupation to start with.  Witness names can also be helpful.
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

They married 17 April 1832 , St Clears so no parents names.

Welcome to Rootschat;

Yes I see no Father or Parents named;
David 1806
Walter 1809
Martha 1811
Phebe 1812
Phebe 1815

+
Elizabeth Reynold, 1823, Grandaughter To George Thomas

There is a burial same church for MARY Reynold 15 Jul 1823, abode near Carvan

I saw your David Marriage 1832 but couldnt pin down ones for Martha/Phebe conclusively.
Walter may have married 1827 to Rachel THOMAS

My line went down - having DNS problems.

I've managed to get the original records up for the later children but none of them give parents' names  :(

Found banns for Walter and Rachel. I think the witnesses might have been church elders. A Daniel Davies was one - the same as one of the witnesses for David.
