John Johnson junior married Mary Carter 11 Sep 1833 Whatfield, Suffolk.

I wonder if Emily Johnson Baptism 20 Jun 1834 Whatfield, Suffolk is their daughter and the name of the parents on the transcription of record is an error?

John Johnson Junior is who I've gone up from.

Him and Mary Carter have 4 children together:

John - 1834
Eliza - 1839
Edward - 1844
Charles - 1847

I have him on the 41, 51, 61 and 71 census. There all living together in the 1851 cenus.

HO107, Piece: 1790, Folio: 655, Page Number: 2

Maybe Emily is another illegitamate and it's a cover up but I was talking to some older women about this and they weren't that suprised a women could have a child at that age if she also had children before that.

Thought I would update this a little for anyone in the future looking down the same trail. For trying to figure out John's parents through the Harriet and Elizabeth (the two illegitimate children living with Caroline) this is what I've found:

Harriet born 1831 Whatfield - I think dies in 1846 aged 15 in Cosford.

Elizabeth I think goes to live as a lodger in Hadleigh, 1851. Then marries a William Mulley in 1860, who is listed as a Journeyman in the 1861 census.

Hannah Johnson, mother of Harriet. I've found two possible candidates for her:

A Hannah Johnson born 1801, living in the Cosford Union House, Semer, Suffolk. And may be the same Hannah who dies in 1843 in Semer Suffolk, born abt 1797.

Or a Hannah Johnson who married in 1843 Hadleigh to Samuel Offord. Living together in 1851, with her birth date listed as 1817, Whatfield Suffolk. So either had Harriet at around 15 or around 40.

Unfortunately, I can't pin a birth/baptism for either so still can't link anything to John. That's it so far.

Or Hannah and Ann are the same person?

1816 Ann?

So you think she could possibly of had three illegitimate children in 1831, 1836 and 1842.

It's possible - I've seen Ann and Hannah being interchangeable in the past
