To get home maybe  :-\
Transport for essential use will still be available.

What I couldn’t understand is why tickets were sold causing the trains to be full. I suppose there could have been clashes though.
I suppose the shops will be full of people and shelves emptied now that supplies are threatened.

A couple of travellers from the UK have brought this new strain into Australia. No word on their whereabouts but hopefully they are in hotel quarantine as all travellers are required to be for two weeks upon arrival.

The numbers of people swarming on to public transport out of London is mind boggling.

What a mess.  :(

What I found was high Covid levels at all the historic cinq ports on the south east coast of England and North Norfolk,. probably Kings Lynn historic gateway for Portuguese and Eastern Europeans.

That doesn't make sense to me?
The Cinque Ports are:
Hastings - no longer a major port
New Romney - now a mile and a half from the seafront
Hythe - no longer has a natural harbour
Dover - still operating
Sandwich - no longer a port, 1.9 miles from sea

King's Lynn no longer has any ferries operating to/from Europe,

Exactly , so do we think smugglers are using the coves around those historic ports.  Did you compare the two maps = one of COVID and the one showing that they are along the narrowest part of the English Channel.

As for Norfolk - is there any other town of substance in that county, except for Norwich, of course?

This new strain is surely not confined to the UK and will in all likelihood be present in other European countries already.  Call me suspicious, but I just get the feeling that France and the other EU countries are taking the opportunity to show us how difficult life could be after Brexit.   :(

I think if the UK was advised that there was a concerning spread of a mutated virus in France, there would be an expectation the UK would take action to restrict entry.

So, we are blaming other countries/people for the "English Virus"? ;D ;D ;D

Blame surely has to be laid at the door of the incompetence of the UK Government and it's laughable "lockdown" policies - which apparently do not involve locking down?

I don't understand the relevance of this question?

Norfolk is a large county and there are many towns - as opposed to Norwich, which is a city, population nearly 200,000.
