Oswin Griffiths (abt. 1822–1877)
« on: Monday 21 December 20 14:29 GMT (UK) »
Please can you find a census record for Oswin Griffiths for 1851?

On 11 July 1842 in West Bromwich he married Fanny Taylor. They had one child - Rosabelle Griffiths (b. 1846). It seems they may have separated.

In 1851 Fanny Griffiths was living with her daughter Rosabelle at the home of her uncle Timothy Massey in Birmingham St George.  In 61 Fanny was living with Rosabelle in Birmingham and in 71 and 81 with Rosabelle’s family (Thomson) in Shropshire.

From 1854 Oswin had ten children with Rebecca (Wood). No marriage record found; although Rebecca uses the surname Griffiths.  In 1861 they lived at Back 280, Birmingham, in 71 at Weston Lane, St John, Staffordshire.

Just questioning Rebecca's maiden name (Wood) as it would appear that from gro records for the children that it is "Brookes"

Michael Fletcher Wood was listed with Rebecca as a lodger in 71 and 81 census. I had assumed he was her father, probably my error.

The Oswin Griffiths who died 1877 is shown as 46 on freebmd giving a birthyear of 1831.  Buried St John the Evangelist Perry Barr 6.3.1877 age also shown as 46

Age must be wrong on death & burial as he married Fanny 1842
